Girl Scout encourages cookie boycott because the group allows transgenders

Looks like someone isn’t getting their “tolerance” badge: This 14-year-old Girl Scout from California is calling for the boycott of her own group for allowing a transgender child to serve as a Girl Scout, which is fairly progressive for the group, but something they only allowed after initially denying the child. Progress comes with resistance, guys; here’s the resistance. source

Girl scouts has always been more progressive and accepting than the boy scouts, which are unrelated btw. LOOKS LIKE I’M BUYING TWICE AS MANY TAGALONGS AND THIN MINTS THIS YEAR.

Also i am reminded of my friend’s story of how the other girl scouts at camp chased her through the woods and beat her with sticks because she wasn’t blonde enough. 

What a great excuse to buy far more cookies this year than I normally would! Also, in my day as a GS I realized that GS summer camp was largely an awesome excuse for the older girls to get their gay on…and I mean that in an entirely positive way. I think it played a role in me being comfortable about my own sexuality as well as others in spite of a xtian upbringing.
